Newsletter #281 - We Need To Focus

It’s that time of the week again! This week’s newsletter has plenty of shenanigans, memes and noteworthy tweets to sink your teeth into. Let’s get right to it. As the industry remains bullish on what’s to come, the halving chatter will continue. Do you think it’s priced in?

A rising tide lifts all boats. Talk of being next up for an ETF can also lift your boat. Ethereum is on the move up once again and we are finally at levels we saw two years ago. The last time the price was hovering around $3K, we were heading on our way down from the all-time high. Some think this time feels different.

‍

It is officially airdrop season. 2024 is shaping up to be the year we are all rewarded for bridging to obscure L2s during the bear market and restaking our ETH as the market heated up over the last few months. Time is limited. We need to focus.

‍

The Starknet airdrop finally arrived. As always, some autists managed to Sybil this bad boy to infinity.

‍

One of the criteria to get the airdrop was contributing on GitHub. All you had to do was submit some bullshit PR and you could have been in the money. This is how generational wealth is built.

‍

Remember the Uniswap airdrop? If you do, you could say you were an airdrop OG. They paved the way for on-chain governance tokens that few care about, which have massively inflated market caps. They are also pioneering on-chain censorship. NGMI.

Pudgy Penguins are making a comeback. We do not hold any, but we hope for the holder’s sake that this is not a top signal.

To business news now! Coinbase Commerce doesn’t accept payments from self-custody Bitcoin wallets anymore. RIP.

Is this a beautiful opportunity?

Over at Bitcoin.com, there has been a restructuring. Corbin Fraser is now the new interim CEO. Congratulations, Corbin!

The some global affairs now. The European Central Bank doesn’t like Bitcoin and thinks it is for criminals. Check out that community note though.

The United States government has a similar line of thinking for the most part. Circle’s Caroline Hill was seen in Congress leaning in on that, so that the US would crackdown on a competitor, Tether. This is not a good look.

‍

The arm of the United States is long-reaching, as Do Kwon is finding out. He is finally being extradited. It’s not looking good.
