Newsletter #314 - You Got The Wrong Guy

Hey Shitcoiners,

We have a spicy newsletter for you this week. The Satoshi documentary, EIGEN, Ryan Salame and plenty of shitposting. Before we jump in, how is Uptober treating you?

With winter on the horizon there is no better time to secure a companion. However, your “hobbies” are likely not what the opposite sex are looking for.

To the news of the week! HBO dropped a new documentary, Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, which made some quite substantial claims. The biggest takeaway from the show was that Peter Todd is allegedly Satoshi Nakamoto.

A claim which he denies.

He should have really listened to Samson and Adam!

The documentary wasn’t received very well. Pete Rizzo with the spicy teardown.

So it’s looking like Peter Todd isn’t Satoshi but he was an anon founder in the past. Remember Grin?

Adam Back was featured in the documentary. By looking at his airline choices we can safely say he is no Satoshi. EasyJet is not the airline of kings. Or is this just amazing OPSEC?

We are still no closer to really understanding who the man behind magical internet money is. How about we get the best of the best on the case? Unfortunately Zach is not interested. He’s too busy fighting crime.

The filmmaker behind the documentary has been interested in unmasking Satoshi for a while. Here’s a throwback to 2018 when he reached out Craig Wright. This didn’t age well. Why did he delete a banger like this?

New Craig Wright arc incoming!

While on the topic of bitcoin, here’s a little known treasure. A pre-release version from 2008! Also check out the Metzdowd cryptography list email.

Rumours have circulated for years that the FBI are in some way linked to the creation of Bitcoin. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen.

Funnily enough they have been dabbling in a little degen memecoin action to catch some bad actors.  Imagine if you sniped a fed coin and made millions? That’s the stuff dreams are made of.

This is not a time to be bearish.

Community managers come in all shapes and sizes.

On the topic of tokens, here’s an excellent read from Arthur Hayes. Are CEX fees really worth it?

Another piece of riveting long-form media dropped this week. Ryan Salame sat down with Tucker Carlson before he serves 7.5 years behind bars.

Autism Capital delivered the spiciest clips. Classic Caroline.

When you get back your FTX funds remember to practice some risk management. Or don’t. It’s memecoin szn.

It always has been.

Get ready for the… scam?

For those of you who find memecoins scary, there’s always another path. Be a humble farmer. Be like Taiki.

Speaking of farming, it feels like every crypto participant has been accruing points for the EIGEN airdrop. The distribution was not without a hiccup though. EigenLayer had a transfer “compromised”. The hacker evidently dropped a “hey bro change my payout addr” and EigenLayer obliged. RIP.

Don’t you go doing any unapproved selling!

Consider this your final warning.

Rough.

This is a set up riddled with flaws.

We are on team Gajesh. Humour is still legal anon.

In some positive news post-EIGEN distribution, the food blog is back!

Justin Sun has been dropping bombs all week long. A “celebrity” burned his SUNDOG but His Excellency won’t shove a man while he’s down.

Coincidently as he’s sending tens of thousands to people who lost their memecoins, he was midway through a 36 hour work marathon. What a champ!

And he keeps racking up the titles. Hello Mr Prime Minister.

In other whale news, an ancient wallet might be cashing out.

El Salvador are hoping for whale status. However, the IMF do not like their innovative monetary policy.

Back to some ZachXBT now. RAUM is going through a tough time. We hope he makes it.

Keep up the good work!

In our penultimate post of the newsletter, here’s what your preferred chain says about your milk.

This generation is screwed.

That's all for this week. See you next time.
