Hello Shitcoiners,
Last week saw Andreas round off the Lightning Review series review. If a deep dive into Lightning tickles your fancy, then it’s worth a read. Check it out here.
Amidst all of that tweaking and testing, Andreas has still been digesting the comings and goings in the world of crypto.
What’s new?
Ross Ulbricht has been tweeting (kind of) from prison. In what is turning out to be an intriguing Twitter account, he has come out and stated he’s not angry at the judge who sentenced him to life in prison (and more). #FreeRoss
In other news, Andreas spotted the Zooko tweet is causing a shitstorm last week.
Fluffypony offered to get this guy Ramen, after he asked Zooko for $6. Did he send his private keys instead? He’s not even sure. We just hope he got the ramen in the end…
Cobra was at it again last week. As (s)he reminisced of more revolutionary times in crypto.
Augur is starting to get dark. The first assassination markets have been added to the platform. Unsurprisingly, fan-favourite Trump is up first. Ouch.
Be careful if you’re downloading MetaMask this week by the way. The Chrome app currently available is a phishing scam (oops).
Now in Bitcoin Cash news, Graphene has now been merged on the Bitcoin Unlimited Client. The protocol is said to be more efficient than other methods of announcing and propagating new blocks. Interesting times ahead.
While we are on the topic of BCH, Coinbase announced this week that they found no signs of insider trading prior to BCH being listed. Who knows…
Bitmain have disclosed their transparency policy for shipping and mining practices. This includes zero tolerance to ‘secret mining’ and a pledge to never seek to mine empty blocks.
Now to one of our favourite projects, SpankChain (yes, we like a little Spanky spank). Last week saw an exciting development as the SpankBank was announced. We are ready for the booty.
Meanwhile, one of SpankChain’s advisors, Steven McKie shared this. Blockchains for dummies was so 2017 anyway.
In response to a baby pointing out the inaccuracies in the above. Anthony Lewis proclaimed his baby was going full child prodigy on the world.
While we’re on the topic of blockchains, Hyperleger Fabric is promising a distributed operating system for permissioned blockchains. Slightly more complex than the example above. Babies probably won’t get this one.
To end this on a light note, check out this amazing find from Charlie Shrem.
Oh and by the way, need 100x leverage? Use Andreas’ referral link on BitMEX.
That’s all for this week Shitcoiners!
