Shitcoin.com Newsletter #5 (August 15th, 2018)

Hello Shitcoiners,

How’s that portfolio looking?

If you don’t think anything good has come from the ocean of red, take a second to think about all of the spicy memes. Some of them may be worth it. Andreas has been perusing as usual and here are some of his must-sees of the week!

In addition to the Shitcoin.com Newsletter we like to point you to other gems of the shitcoin world. Arthur Hayes’ BitMEX Crypto Trader Digest is one of said gems. His analysis of Ether as a ‘double digit shitcoin’ has some valid points. Oh, and that breakdown of the Bitmain IPO

C’est magnifique!

Bitmain IPO potentially as high as $18 billion

Is Jihan about to pull off the move of the decade?
News is surfacing that Bitmain are filing for a huge IPO in September which values the company at somewhere between $40-50 billion.

One of the most interesting pieces of information to come to light is that they hold more than 1 million Bitcoin Cash.

Yep, they hold more Bitcoin Cash than Satoshi himself.

Here is a great meme to demonstrate the Chad-like qualities of Bitmain. Sorry (not sorry) Blockstream.

Blood in the streets

Our good friend Tim Swanson has a habit of saying what we’re all thinking. If you do a little Reddit browsing, the likelihood is you’ve seen these phrases once, twice, maybe seventeen times.

People are getting rekt from all walks of life. One retiree investor threw $190,000 into Helios (what even is that?) and his holdings are now worth $240 (ouch). In a similar read an Abu Dhabi investor took a loan out of ~$126,500 to invest into his portfolio. He’s now down 85% and has repayments scheduled for the next 3 years (double ouch).

Did they take Adam Back’s advice and BTFD at $11,600 too?

Meanwhile, Romano is really doing all he can to end this. We’re not sure if he’s eaten any ass yet, but at least he’s going to Vegas. Thanks bro.

PSASR (Public Service Announcement Specifically for Romano): don’t party at Caesar’s, they don’t appreciate degen.

Bitcoin Spice

Vitalik and his love of stirring the Bitcoin pot is well documented. Here he is doing just that with a great poll.

On the other side of the fork Bitcoin Cash never fails to bring the heat. Haipo Yang, CEO of CoinEX and ViaBTC waded in this week and stated his position.

If you know Andreas, you know that he loves a little Luke Dashjr on his Twitter feed. Comedy gold regularly ensues from this Bitcoin Core developer. One of his best bits this week?

Sometimes we all need a little helping hand. Mike stepped in to break it down for the masses. Cue response from Luke.

To round this up, we are just going to leave this here.

Till next time Shitcoiners!
