Shitcoin.com Newsletter #6 (August 25th, 2018)

Happy Saturday Shitcoiners,

At Shitcoin.com we don’t give trading advice. Even if we did, you would still get REKT by those pesky bears — they’re everywhere these days.

But let’s not focus on how bad your portfolio is doing, it’s time to share and enjoy what Andreas has been reading over the last week. Here are the best bits.

Following a top notch update by Arthur Hayes of BitMEX (read it here if you missed it), ActualAdviceBTC stepped in with a thanks for the mention.

With the market still dragging it’s feet, it’s finally time to have Romano fulfil a prophecy. Legend has it that the sooner he heads to Vegas to meet up with one Ms. Sparks the better. Andreas has been petitioning and he can’t wait any longer.

CNBC have been up to their usual divisive Twitter tricks and the general public seem to think we aren’t any closer to a rebound. Does this mean the opposite is about to happen?

Like the rest of us, Nvidia have felt the brunt of this downturn. They dipped their toes in the mining game recently and saw 10% of their overall revenue come from their efforts.

Unfortunately their numbers have been crippled lately. They reached $18m in revenue in Q2 when they expected $100m. Their stock price took a hammering for this error of judgement too.

Just like Nvidia the rest the SF Bitcoin community are busy getting rid of their rigs. Weak hands?

Luke’s Moments of the Week

It wouldn’t be a week on crypto-Twitter without some snippets from our favourite Bitcoin Core developer.

Thanks for being you, Luke.

Reporting and theorising

You might have noticed but BitMEX have been appearing more and more in our newsletter. Why? Well they are being as spicy as ever on Twitter. Well played Arthur and the team.

We always like to keep on the pulse of the Bitcoin comings and goings. This week one of Andreas go-to Bitcoin researchers and game theorists Paul Sztorc posed an important question and saw some interesting results.

Implementation-talk

With tension high In the Bitcoin Cash community Cobra is pushing out Cobra Client, a “safe and reliable implementation of the scheduled November hard fork”. Cobra doesn’t believe in the patents, so this is the answer?

With talk of implementation compatibility rife, Grubles made a point concerning how his older Bitcoin release from 2013 is no longer compatible with Bitcoin Cash. We will leave how this is interpreted to you.

BITCONNECTTTTTTTT

With all of the serious talk hurting our brains it’s time to focus on some lighter content.

Bitconnect will forever be a part of crypto folklore. This week a new EDM remix surfaced. The worst part? It’s actually pretty great. Carlos, you will never leave us.

If you’re ever feeling a little down, it might be good to think back to the Bitconnect times over your morning cup of joe. Get yourself this mug, you won’t regret it.

Finally, our go-to hat salesman has been mingling this week. He visited Tesla, met Satoshi and did all sorts of fun, bear market things. However, if you’re us, you might have been left wondering… where was Samson’s hat at this dinner?
